Recommendation Roundup: April 2015
Welcome to another edition of Recommendation Roundup!
This month I was lucky enough to read an early copy of Lisa Schroeder's upcoming YA novel, All We Have is Now and it's so, so good, y'all. It's definitely got a literary vibe to it and asks a lot of important questions. I also read and loved The One That Got Away, which is Bethany Chase's first novel and reminds me of the really great "chick lit" from the early 2000s--it's voicey and funny and smart.
I finally found a Karie McGarry novel that worked for me (though it was not without its issues) in her upcoming novel, Nowhere But Here, and glommed a bunch of Sarah Mayberry's backlist, which I seem to do once a year. I still have mixed feelings on her writing at times (she tends to use the same phrasing over and over and it bugs me), but she's definitely one to snag if you want a quick, satisfying read.
